 CHOCOLATIERRA is proud to introduce award-winning Master Chocolatier and Pastry Chef Oscar Ortega. Originally from Mexico, Oscar Ortega is currently based in Jackson, Wyoming. Ortega's artistry and creativity with pastries and chocolate has been influenced by his culinary training in Mexico City, his pastry training in Bresia, Italy under master pastry chefs Iginio Masari and Pier Paolo Magni, as well as his training in chocolate and sugar decoration at the Notter School of Pastry Arts in Orlando, Florida. Ortega's skills and creativity have been refined throughout the years while working as a pastry chef and chocolatier in various luxury hotels and fine dining establishments in the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, France, and Mexico.
In December, 2008, Barry Callebaut, one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-quality cocoa and chocolate products announced that Oscar Ortega, was one of a short list of finalists to compete in the 2009 World Chocolate Masters, a selective competition of master chocolatiers from around the world. Ortega will be representing Mexico during the 2009 World Chocolate Master competition.
